A community based home for 9 adults with severe learning and physical difficulties

The Karuna Home is geared specifically to meeting the needs of residents with severe physical and intellectual disabilities. Accordingly, when assessing the suitability of potential residents, the criteria against which the assessment is made are:

• They must be adults – 19 years or over

• They must have a severe learning disability

• They must not have challenging behaviour

Each referral is initially assessed by the manager and then is submitted to the selection panel for a final decision.
